Kolkata, July 21:  Trinamool Congress (TMC) Chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday said that she will start 'BJP Hatao, Desh Bachao' campaign on August 15.  During her address at the party's annual Martyrs’ Day rally in Esplanade near Kolkata today, Banerjee said that 2019 will be a big blow and Bengal will show the path.

The TMC organises the Martyrs’ Day rally every year on July 21 in the memory of 13 Youth Congress activists killed in police firing in 1993 during the Left Front regime in West Bengal.

Talking about the rising number of lynching incidents across the country, the West Bengal Chief Minister said lynching is creating Talibanis among people. "The way lynching is happening everywhere in the country, they are creating Talibanis among people. In BJP & RSS, there are good people whom I respect but some are playing dirty games", she added.

Earlier in the day, Banerjee announced that Former Rajya Sabha MP Chandan Mitra, Former CPM MP Moinul Hasan, Congress's Sabina Yasmin and Mizoram advocate-general Biswajit Deb have joined TMC.

According to a report by PTI, at least 6,000 police personnel have been deployed across Kolkata and at different locations along with around five watch towers near Victoria House at Esplanade, to prevent any untoward incident. Three Quick Response Team (QRT), Heavy Radio Flying Squads (HRFS) teams and four teams of Kolkata police’s Reserve Force are also said to be in action.
