Panaji, March 17: With reports of Manohar Parrikar's health condition deteriorating with time, Goa Chief Minister’s Office on Sunday evening informed that the health of Parrikar is extremely critical and doctors are trying their best for his recovery. Parrikar who is suffering from pancreatic cancer for a long time has been under treatment for a while, and rather than improvement, the situation has deteriorated.

Earlier in the day, senior Goa BJP leader Dayanand Mandrekar requested the BJP high command to decide on the next CM face for Goa, as the chances of returning back to normal for Parrikar is grim. With the severe critical condition of Parrikar in place, the BJP is looking for options to lead the state. On Saturday, Congress submitted a letter to Governor Mridula Sinha requesting her to allow them to form the government in the state and grant the opposition a chance to prove their numbers in the august house. The party also advised the governor not to impose the President rule in Goa as it would be ‘unconstitutional’.
