Mumbai: Mane Yashwant Vitthal of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has won the Mohol Vidhan Sabha in Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019. Mane defeated Kshirsagar Nagnath Dattatray of the Shiv Sena party.

Mohol is located in Solapur district of the state, which falls in Pune division‌‌‌. The assembly segment primarily features an electoral contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-Shiv Sena alliance and the Congress-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) combine. From the Mohol seat, the saffron coalition had fielded Shiv Sena's Nagnath Dattatray Kshirsagar. The Opposition candidate from the constituency was NCP leader Yashawant Vitthal Mane. In 2014, the assembly segment was wrested between NCP's Ramesh Nagnath Kadam and BJP leader Kshirsagar Sanjay Dattatraya. As per the results declared by the Election Commission, the seat was won by Congress leader Ramesh Nagnath Kadam by a margin of 8,367 votes.

Ahead of the elections, the BJP-Sena coalition was being predicted to hold the edge. The sum of major opinion polls had claimed a return of the incumbent ruling alliance in the forthcoming polls.

In both the states, the BJP is the incumbent ruling party. If re-elected to power, Devendra Fadnavis and Manohar Lal Khattar are likely to continue as the Chief Ministers of Maharashtra and Haryana, respectively.
