Farooq and Omar Abdullah, both are former Jammu and Kashmir chief Ministers, were place under detention before the centre axed Article 370 of the Constitution on August 5. 81-year-old Farooq Abdullah is under house arrest at his Srinagar residence while his son Oman is detained at the Hari Niwas state guest house nearby.

NC leaders Meet Farooq Abdullah:

After the meeting, senior NC leaders Hasnain Masoodi and Akbar Lone said that the meeting was just to ask about their well-being and no politics was discussed. The two leaders, however, said that NC would not take part in the J&K Block Development Council (BDC) Polls because the "entire leadership is in jail".

After announcing the BDC Polls, the government has relaxed the restrictions in the valley. The J&K administration said that the political leaders and activists under detention would be released in a phased manner.
