Mumbai, March 26: Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari's income from the last Lok Sabha Elections to the present times has gone up by a whopping 140 percent. The information was revealed when Gadkari filed his election affidavit on Monday. Gadkari mentioned in his affidavit that his income for the year 2017-18 was Rs 6.4 lakhs. When Gadkari had filed his last affidavit five years back, he showed his total income to be Rs 2.7 lakh. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Flags off Taxi Ambulance Services.

The affidavit also mentions that Gadkari's income increased substantially in the year 2014-15. This is the year when his income increased upto Rs 6 lakh. However, his income has remained more or less stagnant since that year.

However, the income disclosed by Gadkari's wife Kanchan shows a remarkable rise in her income. From Rs 4.6 lakhs in 2013-14 to Rs 40 lakh in 2017-18.

Gadkari's total assets amount to Rs 6.9 crore. The increase in this regard is 10 percent which can be a result of market appreciation of the assets. The only property held by Gadkari is the Worli flat.

While the wife's assets runs into Rs 7.3 crore, which is an increase by 127 percent, said reports. Gadkari's vehicles include a humble Ambassador car valued at Rs 10,000. He also owns a Honda worth Rs 20 lakhs. Gadkari mentions in the affidavit that there are three dependents on him.

Nitin Gadkari has three criminal cases pending against his name. However, no charges have been framed on him in any of the cases. Gadkari's education details show that he holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BCOM) and Bachelor of Legislative Law (LLB) from Nagpur University.
