Speaking to journalists in Darbhanga, Kishor confirmed that he vacated his previous city residence on Tuesday night to begin his stay at the new facility.
"Last night I shifted out of the place in Patna where I had been living," Kishor said. "The Bihar Navnirman Ashram, situated close to IIT-Patna, shall be my abode till the next assembly polls when the Jan Suraaj Party will, hopefully, make an impact." Prior to this relocation, the I-PAC co-founder had been operating his political network from 'Sheikhpura House'. The sprawling bungalow, located near the Patna airport, is owned by the family of Jan Suraaj national president and former BJP MP Uday Singh. The transition to a austere ashram lifestyle marks a symbolic shift for Kishor, who transitioned from high-profile political consultancy to full-time grassroots activism when he launched the Jan Suraaj movement, which officially converted into a political party on Gandhi Jayanti in October 2024. During his media briefing, Kishor leveraged his new announcement to launch a sharp critique against the state's established political leadership. He specifically targeted former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who resigned from his post to enter the Rajya Sabha, accusing him of failing to address economic migration while prioritizing a political foothold for his son, Nishant Kumar.
