New Delhi, August 2: Senior Congress leader and lawmaker from Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram, Shashi Tharoor, said he was "grateful" to journalist Poonam Pandey on Twitter for appreciating his vocabulary skills in Hindi. The former Union Minister's response came after Pandey said she was left impressed with the Hindi used by Tharoor during a recent interview with her.

Known for his strong oratory skills in English, Twitter users found it uncharacteristic of Tharoor being appreciated for his Hindi. Pandey's post on social media also reflected the sentiment, as she stated that she now knows that Tharoor is well-versed in Hindi too apart from English. Did Shashi Tharoor Pose For Picture With Pakistan Cricketers' Wives? Tharoor, one of the tallest Congress leader in southern India, continues to make headlines. In wake of the party's dismal performance in recent Lok Sabha elections, the 63-year-old ended up winning with a decisive mandate from his incumbent seat. His name also propped up for the Congress' legislative party leader in the Lok Sabha, but the post was later assigned to Berhampur MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.
