Dehradun, May 19: Exit Poll Results have predicted a massive victory for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.  The exit poll results of Lok Sabha elections 2019 for all constituencies of hill states- Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh are out. According to an exit poll survey conducted by ABP-CSDS, the BJP will bag four seats while the Congress is likely to settle for one.

According to exit poll predictions by News24-Today's Chanakya, the BJP is predicted to win 4-5 seats in Uttarakhand while Congress is expected to win 0-1 seat. The polling for all the seven phases of Lok Sabha elections 2019 has concluded, with the last phase polling held today, May 19. In Uttarakhand, five Lok Sabha constituencies-Tehri Garhwal, Garhwal, Almora, Nainital–Udhamsingh Nagar, Haridwar went to poll in the first phase on April 11. Uttarakhand:

All the five seats of Uttarakhand went to polls in the first phase on April 11. The BJP and the Congress are locked in straight fights in all five seats.

Over 78.56 lakh people in the state went to cast their votes to decide the fate of 52 candidates. Two former Chief Ministers are in the fray -- Harish Rawat from Nainital-Udhamsingh Nagar and Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank from Haridwar. Congress has fielded Manish Khanduri, son of senior BJP leader Maj Gen B.C. In Tehri Garhwal seat, the BJP's sitting MP Mala Rajyalaxmi Shah, the daughter-in-law of late Maharaja Manvendra Shah, is facing a tough challenge from the state Congress chief Pritam Singh.

In the Garhwal seat, there is a tough fight between Dr. Kailash Shanker Trivedi of the  Bhrastachar Ka Ant Party, BJP's Tirath Singh Rawat , Dr. Mukesh Semwal of the Socialist Unity Centre Of India (Communist) and Shanti Prasad Bhatt of the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal.

In the Almora (SC) seat, Union minister of State Textile Ajay Tamta (BJP) is fighting Pradip Tamta of the Congress at Almora seat to wrest the seat.

In Nainital–Udhamsingh Nagar seat, the BJP has fielded the state unit chief Ajay Bhatt while the Congress has fielded former chief minister Harish Rawat.

In Hardwar seat,  the contest is nearly triangular, with the BSP giving anxious moments to both the BJP and the Congress. Former Chief Minister and BJP leader Ramesh Pokhriyal Naishank is facing Ambrish Kumar of the Congress and Antriksh Saini of the BSP.

Himachal Pradesh:

Voting in all the four parliamentary seats in the state- Mandi, Hamirpur, Kangra and Shimla were held on May 19 in the seventh and final phase of polling for the Lok Sabha elections on Sunday. The BJP came to power in Himachal Pradesh in December 2017 after winning 44 seats in the 68-member Assembly. In Mandi, sitting BJP MP Ram Swaroop Sharma is seeking a second term. He is contesting against Congress greenhorn Ashray Sharma, who is the grandson of former Telecom Minister Sukh Ram.

In Hamirpur,  Prem Kumar Dhumal Dhumal is trying to ensure a fourth term for his son Anurag Thakur, former president state and national cricket bodies. Pitted against Anurag Thakur, 44, is ex-wrestler and five-time Congress legislator Ram Lal Thakur.

In Kangra, the BJP has fielded Cabinet Minister Kishan Kapoor after dropping veteran leader Shanta Kumar against Congress two-time legislator Pawan Kajal.

In the Shimla (SC) seat, Retired Colonel Dhani Ram Shandil is the Congress candidate against BJP nominee and former Indian Air Force (IAF) officer Suresh Kashyap.

The seven-phase Lok Sabha elections were held from April 11 to May 19. Counting of votes will take place on May 23.
