What is leukemia?

Leukemia is a cancer of the blood or bone marrow. In this blood cells are produced by the bone marrow when there is a problem in the production of these cells. It affects the leukocytes or white blood cells. There are two types of leukemia, active and chronic, the former develops quickly and worsen rapidly, while the latter gets worse over time.

How did 'The Big Dog' fought leukemia?

After Roman Reigns made his return in WWE on Feb 25, 2019, a week after that on the episode of Chronicle on WWE Network 'The Big Dog' revealed about the type of leukemia he had. Reigns said in that interview that first few months of treatment he couldn't move very much and started his workout in the gym only when he got on his feet again. He further added that he had CML leukemia, which is also known as myeloid leukemia.

Roman Reigns considered himself lucky to discover this type of cancer at an early stage where treatment can be done by pills. During this phase there is no requirement for taking radiation and true chemotherapy. However, Reigns also said that when he had taken an exit from WWE last year, he wasn't sure about his return. When Reigns first discovered that his leukemia is in remission, he first informed Mr.Vince McMahon, chairman of WWE and it was then the company started to plan his comeback.

Roman Reign's Workout and Diet

The Big Dog workout six days in a week and rest on Sundays. No matter how much busy his schedule is, he never misses on his workout. He starts off his week with leg training which he does thrice in a week on alternate days, where both times he trains his quadriceps and hamstrings in a different way. He loves doing back workout, as he includes 4 sets of deadlift exercise along with  10 sets of T-bar rows. He does other back workouts too like barbell rows and one-arm dumbbell row. He also adds bicep and shoulder workout on his back training days. The fourth day of his workout is fully dedicated to chest and tricep muscles. He does cardio exercises on the sixth day of training where he also trains his core muscles.

Roman Reigns eat his meals on time and ensure that he keeps his body loaded with good protein, where meat, steaks and chickens are main sources.  He also ensures that he balances his diet with adequate carbohydrate, vitamin and minerals. Reigns like to workout on a light stomach as it keeps him agile and flexible during the training session. The Big Dog eat cooked vegetables along with chicken and rice for dinner.

Roman Reigns was recently seen in action with Elias on this past Sunday (May 19, 2019) Money in the Bank PPV. Reigns defeated Elias in that match. He is currently not into the title picture for Universal Championship. The current world champion is his former Shield partner, Seth Rollins.
