Every year 12th January is celebrated as National youth Day in India, The Government of India, in 1984 declared 12th January as Yuwa Diwas or National youth day to honor the birthday Of globally recognized great Indian Philosopher and Social reformer Swami Vivekananda, who himself personified the eternal energy of youth. The main aim of youth day is to propagate the ideals and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda for which he lived and worked. This year too the day was celebrated with great energy and enthusiasm across India.

In Mumbai as well the ' Insaniyat' association organized an event in Worli area on youth day to commemorate the birth anniversary of great legend. The main attraction of the event was a Rap challenge organized for college students. 16 colleges from across the Mumbai participated in the event with 1 representative from each college. Youth awareness and zeal was clearly visible in well articulated lyrics of Rap songs based on Youth empowerment and current social and political scenario.

The event was judged by Mr. M.C.Azad and Mr.M.C.Mastan from Most Wanted Records and was attended by more than 500 people. Judges and audience looked really impressed by the energy level and social awareness of the participants and the way they put their thoughts into hummable and attractive rap songs. And surprisingly the winner of the event was the youngest participant<> who won the cash prize worth Rs. 20,000. The event was also attended by founder of Insaniyat’ association Mr.Arjun Meghe who was quite impressed by the performance of the participants.

On the occasion he also shared his thoughts and said “"Most organizations treat the youth as added help to their endeavors. With Isaniyat, I was clear from the start that we want the youth to take up and execute projects - today's times have changed and it is my firm belief that experience does not necessarily mean execution. Insaniyat will continue to be a trendsetter in youth development and participation in society"  The event definitely was supporting and enhancing the very theme of the youth day ,which is 'Channelizing Youth Power for Nation Building'
