Not just humans adopt babies and animals of other species. Over the years, we have seen interspecies adoptions that has crop up in the animal kingdom. And it is nothing but too adorable to see animals of different species as they adopt the young of another species and indulges in taking care, parenting them as its own. In a recent case at Mountfitchet Castle near Stansted Essex, United Kingdom, a 10-year-old golden Labrador has adopted and become a dad to nine little ducklings. Yes! At Mountfitchet Castle which is a tourist attraction has once again made the headlines after a pooch named Fred adopted the ducklings when their mum left them. Our beloved Twitter is flooded with the pictures of this wonderful Happy Family!

On May 17, these cute little ducklings were witnessed wandering around lost near the battlements at the Castle. A spokeswoman reported BBC that staffs were worried when they established that the ducklings mother were found nowhere. But Fred was quick as he stood up to take care of the young ones. “We brought the ducklings into the house as they are too young to fend for themselves, and Fred just took them under his paw - rather than his wing,” Mr Jeremy Goldsmith, Fred’s owner was quoted saying in the same report.

“They absolutely adore him and he has now resigned himself to being a stay-at-home dad looking after the nine baby ducklings,” Mr Goldsmith further added.

Here you go, yet another example of wonderful parenting! The Mountfitchet Castle is a home to a number of rescued animals but reportedly, Fred is a resident dog. The little wings sleep with Fred his basked and follows him where he goes. Mr Goldsmith further informed that the little ducklings will stay at the castle until they grow old enough to leave. They can even stay back if they want to.
