North Carolina Woman Kept Mother’s Dead Body at Home to Know the Stages of Death

A North Carolina woman kept her 93-year-old mother’s dead body in their home for several months as she wanted to know the stages of her death, as stated by the local police. It began when the accused, Donna Sue Hudgins went to a funeral home to make memorial arrangements saying that her mother passed that morning. But she did not know where the medical services had taken the deceased’s body. The officers while conducting a welfare check soon found the senior woman’s body badly decomposed body at her home which her 69-year-old daughter has been keeping for several months. Kenny Velasquez, who is separated from Nellie Hudgins granddaughter said that the family members had tried to visit the 93-year-old but the accused only would make excuses. In WRAL, he was quoted as saying, “Every time somebody would stop by, she would meet us at the door, say she’s asleep or something like that. Apparently every time someone would call, same thing.” Donna Hudgins was later arrested and has been charged with felony concealment of a death. A bond was set at 5,000 dollars (over Rs. 3.60 lakh), and Donna is expected to return to court on November 7.
