A group of tourists from Argentina reached the western gate of the Taj Mahal at around 7 am on Tuesday. One woman in the group had come dressed in a saree but, due to a lack of experience in wearing the traditional attire, it began to come undone, leaving her feeling uncomfortable.
On noticing the situation, Guddi Devi, a female constable posted with the Quick Response Team of the Taj Security Police, immediately stepped forward to help. She adjusted the tourist's saree with care and respect, allowing the visitor to continue her tour comfortably.
'Thank You UP Police'
The constable's assistance moved the Argentine tourist. Smiling, she said, "Thank you, UP Police," and posed for a photograph with Guddi Devi as a keepsake. The interaction also drew the attention of other visitors present at the monument.
Officials from the Taj Security Police said their responsibility extends beyond maintaining security and includes ensuring that every visitor feels welcomed and respected.
They said the force continues to assist tourists in the spirit of "Atithi Devo Bhava" and "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," adding that the unit's visitor-friendly approach has earned appreciation from both domestic and international tourists.
The Taj Mahal is one of India's most visited heritage sites, attracting millions of domestic and international tourists each year. Along with security arrangements, the Taj Security Police regularly assist visitors with directions, safety and other support services to help ensure a smooth experience at the UNESCO World Heritage monument.
