Screen goddess Sridevi has left for the heavenly abode and our only consolation is she has gone to a happier and better place. Days have gone by since the devastating news of Sridevi’s death on February 24, 2018, left us shattered but the heart is still not ready to believe that Indian cinema’s first female superstar has bid us final goodbye. An unfortunate case of accidental drowning took away our most favourite actress at the age of 54. Devoted fans and followers in large number thronged at Sridevi’s funeral on February 28, but a fan stole everyone’s heart by paying a special musical tribute to the deceased actress. A video clip (rightly, gone viral) captured a man in a Mumbai local train playing ravanahatha, a musical instrument to present a medley of iconic Sridevi songs.

Indian comedian, screenwriter, and lyricist Varun Grover posted a video on his official Twitter account that showed a man playing ravanahatha in the crowded Mumbai local. It is not a unique sight to come across home-grown talents on the trains playing musical instruments or indulging in any form of music but what caught Grover and everyone in the compartment was the man was playing tunes of memorable songs starring Sridevi.

Varun captioned the video as, “So last night in the crowded Borivali local, Prakash with his hand-made Sarangi started playing 'Tere mere honthon par'. Soon many of us in the bogey realised he's giving a medley-tribute to #Sridevi. Goosebumps followed.” He later corrected the name of musical instrument to ‘Raavan-hathha and not Sarangi,’ after being pointed out by a Twitter user Soumik Sen. But the star of the video was the man paying his last respects to Sridevi in the most soulful manner.

The video began with him playing the song Tere Mere Hoton Pe from Yash Raj’s romantic film Chandni. The 1989 blockbuster cemented Sridevi’s position as the undisputed box office queen and she went on become India’s Chandni. However, it was the second tune by the man on Mumbai local that teared up Twitterati.

It was Tu Na Ja Mere Badshah from 1992 film Khuda Gawah. Sung originally by Alka Yagnik and Mohammed Aziz, this song struck a chord with netizens. Finally, the last song was played and again it was from Khuda Gawah, Tu Mujhe Kabool in the voices of Kavita Krishnamurthy and Mohammed Aziz.
