When you are the part of the Bollywood industry, you are constantly under the media scanner. You need to be perfect at all times. Your almost every appearance is looked at with precision and even one uncommon expression will be highlighted. All bollywood stars are almost used to this and fans love watching behind the scenes, candid moments and more. But what’s questionable is while you look at zits and dimples on a certain celebrity’s face, does it give you the right to judge how they appear or call them ugly? In this case, Disha Patani is the victim.

In the race of reporting news, media houses have now become judgmental. Media houses have started passing judgments on any celebrity without verifying or authenticating the information. One such example was tagging an actress as ugly in her school picture. A particular media portal did a comparison of Disha Patani's looks based on her picture from school times. In fact, Disha looks just as demure in the picture (in our opinion) and it is just not fair to compare it with her transformation into an actress. Comparing anyone’s school pictures to their present self, they are bound to look immature. But going ahead giving them an ‘ugly’ tag goes far. She looks just like any other schoolgirl in her growing up days. We have seen enough of her modelling days to her transformation into a flawless beauty today. But on what levels is it right to go ahead calling the pictures ‘ugly?’ In the school picture, she is dull as described further, but that’s an ordinary picture and one cannot expect any actor to be prim and proper at all times. Let alone, she knew she'd be an actress years later.

Take a look:

What we are trying to say is while the industry is obsessed with beauty and follows certain beauty standards, the media houses have also stooped low in terms of reportage. They are resorting to more ugly tricks to get audience attention. It is a race to get more readers in the existing competition, which is when such articles and news pieces are made out of. For that matter, Taimur Ali Khan is the latest obsession that is here to stay, especially in entertainment journalism. Every picture of the star kid, be it with his parents or outside some gym, becomes a news to chase. And these obsessions are again short-lived. When was the last you saw a picture of Aaradhya Bachchan or AbRam Khan?

What we do not realise is while we draw judgments on what and how other look like, a larger part of the audience is judging our own doing. The quality of journalism has reduced to cute baby pictures or ugly actress pictures or wardrobe malfunctions.
