The Bombay High Court today, July 3, permitted a woman to abort her 26-week pregnancy under the Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) Act. The woman, who had been diagnosed with cancer, was allowed to terminate her pregnancy by the bench of Justices Ajay Gadkari and Neela Gokhale. The high court bench orally said that they were inclined to allow the abortion.
