In a recent appeal, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena has written to Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, urging her to designate November 7 as a full holiday for Chhath celebrations. Currently, November 7 has only been marked as a restricted holiday in Delhi. Chhath Puja, an important festival primarily observed by communities from Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh, is widely celebrated in Delhi as well.
