The directive mandates that basements in school buildings be used solely for permissible activities as outlined in the Master Plan and sanctioned plan. Schools are required to clearly mark and indicate access to basements in their evacuation plans. Additionally, all electrical wiring, fittings, and appliances must be thoroughly checked, with strict adherence to safety norms to prevent any untoward incidents. The guidelines aim to enhance safety and preparedness in schools across the city.
