The Secretary of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi wrote to the Election Commission of India on Tuesday, April 23, seeking permission for the scheduled polls of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the national capital on April 26. The MCD awaits approval from the EC to conduct these polls at the Civic Centre, while the process for printing ballot papers is underway. Meanwhile, one of the AAP's candidates for the deputy mayor election, Mangalpuri councillor Narendra Kumar, withdrew his nomination. However, in the opposition BJP camp, no decision on candidates has been made yet.
