Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has criticized the Uttar Pradesh government in the wake of the recent encounter involving two accused in the Ram Gopal Mishra case. Yadav described the incident as anĀ  'administrative failure' and alleged that the government is resorting to encounters to divert attention from its failures in maintaining law and order in the state. Yadav questioned the effectiveness of the government's approach, stating, ā€œIf encounters had been improving the law and order of the state, UP would have been way ahead of most states.ā€ He further expressed concerns about the handling of public events, pointing out, ā€œIf permission had been taken for the procession, why wasn't it carried out peacefully?
