Certain reports suggest that Covishield vaccinated people may not be eligible for Green Pass issued by the European Union as the AstraZeneca-Oxford COVID-19 vaccine's version manufactured by the Serum Institute of India has not been approved by the EMA. Adar Poonawalla on Monday tweeted that he has taken up this issue at the highest level and hope to resolve this matter soon:
I realise that a lot of Indians who've taken Covishield are facing issues with travel to the EU. I assure everyone, I've taken this up at highest levels & hope to resolve this matter soon, both with regulators & at the diplomatic level with countries: Adar Poonawalla, SII pic.twitter.com/ejz3uhnuDc
