Judge Ruchi Bhagat sentenced the accused, Kailash Singh, under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act of 1960. The court also imposed a fine of INR 30,000 on Singh.
A court in Mumbai recently convicted a 65-year-old man for kicking a female dog to death in the city. Judge Ruchi Bhagat sentenced the accused, Kailash Singh, under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act of 1960. The court also imposed a fine of INR 30,000 on Singh and said that if he defaulted in paying the fine, he would have to undergo simple imprisonment for one month.
