New Year Party Turns Violent in Ghaziabad: Tenants, Guests Attack Landlord After Objection to Loud Music; 3 Booked After Video Goes Viral

A New Year’s Eve celebration allegedly spiralled into violence at a residential society in Ghaziabad after tenants and their guests attacked their landlord and his family for objecting to loud music and late-night partying. The incident occurred at Sushant Aquapolis in Crossings Republik around 1 am on January 1 and a purported video of the altercation has since gone viral on social media. Police said the landlord, Hitesh Sharma, confronted his tenants over noisy celebrations on the terrace, following which the group allegedly misbehaved, assaulted family members, vandalised plant pots and chairs, and damaged Sharma’s car. Sharma claimed he sustained a finger fracture and that his wife and son were abused and threatened. The entire episode was captured on CCTV cameras installed at the house. An FIR has been registered against three accused Sarthak, Prithvi and Sanket under multiple BNS sections, including rioting, grievous hurt, mischief, criminal intimidation and provocation of breach of peace. In Ghaziabad's Crossing Republik area, under the local police station, a family in Sushant Aquapolis paid a heavy price for asking partygoers to lower New Year noise. Allegedly, the tenants and guests attacked the landlord's family.
