Both Olympians, who led protests last year against former Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Singh over allegations of sexual harassment, met Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday before formally joining the party.

Vinesh Phogat expressed her gratitude to the public for their support throughout her wrestling career and thanked the Congress for standing by her during difficult times.
