Agniveer Unplanned and Tughlaqi Scheme: Mallikarjun Kharge Demands Scrapping of Agniveer Programme As Bitter Exchange of Words Takes Place Between Congress Leader and Speaker in Rajya Sabha

Rajya Sabha Speaker Jagdeep Dhankhar and Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge engaged in a heated argument in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, June 1, after the latter slammed  the Central Government over the Agniveer scheme. The Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Rajya Sabha pointed out that the morale of several youths has been shattered due to the unplanned Agniveer scheme. Kharge labeled the program a 'Tughlaqi scheme' and insisted on its immediate scrapping. Addressing the issue directly, he remarked, 'You come from a farmers family yourself. You understand that rural youth often choose either the army or farming. Will you let such an injustice happen to your children?' In response to Kharge, Rajya Sabha Speaker Jagdeep Dhankhar emphasized, "Today, farmers' sons are scientists and hold positions in various sectors of the government...
