Mahamrityunjay is considered extremely auspicious and on the night of Maha Shivratri, devotees should chant the mantra for 108 times. Also known as the Rudra Mantra or Tryambakam Mantra, it is said to be beneficial for mental, emotional and physical health and to be a moksha mantra which bestows longevity and immortality.
