Where and How to Check the Results
Candidates can access their results through the official ICAI websites, including caresults.icai.org, icaiexam.icai.org and icai.org. The online scorecard contains key details such as the candidate's name, roll number, registration number, subject-wise marks, aggregate score and qualifying status. Candidates have been advised to verify all details carefully and report any discrepancies to ICAI through the prescribed channels.
Passing Criteria
To qualify the CA Foundation examination, candidates must secure at least 40 per cent marks in each paper and 50 per cent marks in aggregate across all papers. Examination Details
The CA Foundation examination for the May 2026 session was conducted on May 14, 16, 18 and 20. The four-paper examination covered Accounting, Business Laws, Quantitative Aptitude and Business Economics.
The CA Foundation is the entry-level examination in ICAI's three-stage Chartered Accountancy programme. Candidates who have qualified in the examination are now eligible to register for the CA Intermediate course, while those who did not clear the exam can appear in the next examination cycle.
Previous Session Performance
In the January 2026 session, 1,09,694 candidates appeared for the CA Foundation examination, of whom 21,099 qualified, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 19.23 per cent.
