The wicketkeeper-batsman, who is also celebrating his 39th birthday, took to social media to announce this development. Dinesh Karthik played 26 Tests, 94 ODIs and 60 T20Is for India and won the 2013 Champions Trophy.

Dinesh Karthik has officially announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. The wicketkeeper-batsman, in an emotional post on Instagram, stated that he has decided to 'move on from playing representative cricket' as he squares up for 'new challenges' that lie ahead. The 39-year-old further thanked wife Dipika Pallikal, his coaches, captains, selectors and teammates for their support over the years.
