During an ICC CWC League 2 match against Scotland, Namibia’s opener Lo-handre Louwrens got out on a duck facing 23 balls. This sets a new record for the longest duck as an opener in the ODI Cricket.

But their opener Lo-handre Louwrens made it into the record books. He faced 22 deliveries without scoring a run and finally got out on the 23rd delivery as Safyaan Sharif took a catch off Brandon McMullen’s bowling. This marked a new record for the longest duck as an opener in the ODI (One Day International) Cricket. He broke the 36-year-old record of Athar Ali Khan of the Bangladesh National Cricket Team, who got out on a duck against the India National Cricket Team facing 22 deliveries in 1988.
