Papua New Guinea national cricket team players were seen breaking down in tears while singing the national anthem before their ICC T20 World Cup 2024 match against West Indies in Guyana on June 2. In a video shared by ICC tears were seen trickling down the faces of the players, including Charles Amini and wicketkeeper Hila Vare in what was an emotional moment for them. PNG were made to bat first and they posted 136/8. Later, Assad Vala and his team put up a spirited show with the ball, but in the end, the West Indies national cricket team prevailed as they won the contest by five wickets and an over to spare.
