Pat Cummins has been ruled out of the 3rd Test against India due to his mother's illness. In his absence, Steve Smith is all set to lead the Australian team. India are currently 2-0 ahead in the four-match Test series.
Australia are playing a four-match Test series against India for the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023. They are currently in a fragile position after losing the first two Tests. The third Test will take place at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore from March 1. However, ahead of that, Australia suffered another big blow. Captain Pat Cummins has been ruled out of the 3rd Test due to his mother's illness. Speaking about the same, Cummins stated, “I have decided against returning to India at this time as my mother is ill and in palliative care. I feel I am best being here with my family.” In Cummins' absence, Steve Smith will be leading the Australian team.
