Wicketkeeper-batter Uma Chetry is making her One-Day International debut in the ongoing IND-W vs BAN-W ICC Women's World Cup 2025 match in Navi Mumbai. Debutant Chetry, who has featured in seven WT20Is for Women in Blue, received her maiden WODI cap from India women's national cricket team vice captain, Smriti Mandhana, ahead of the delayed toss in a team hurdle. India's regular wicketkeeper, Richa Ghosh, suffered an injury in IND-W vs NZ-W, which meant Chetry could feature in the XI, who is the backup wicketkeeper in the squad. The 23-year-old in seven T20Is has amassed 37 runs. Jemimah Rodrigues Signs Autographs For Fans As They Sing 'Jemi Meri Jaan' After India Women's Victory Against New Zealand Women in ICC Women's World Cup 2025 (Watch Video).
