Was Sanju Samson out or not? Well, the third umpire's decision to adjudge the Rajasthan Royals' captain as 'out' triggered a lot of controversy during the DC vs RR match in IPL 2024 on May 7. Samson, batting well on 86 runs, hit the ball straight to long-on with Shai Hope taking a nervy catch on near the boundary line. The third umpire checked the replay of that catch and, after watching it a few times, found that Hope had not touched the boundary cushion with the momentum he had after taking the catch. But the Rajasthan Royals camp, as well as Samson, felt that Hope had touched the boundary rope. Samson also had a chat with the umpire before walking off, unhappy with the decision. Fans on social media also felt that the RR captain was not out.
