The five franchises have announced their list of retained and released players ahead of ths second edition of the Women's Premier League. Among some big names to be released by the franchises were Annabel Sutherland and Shabnim Ismail.
Dane Van Niekerk, Shabnim Ismail and Megan Schutt were among the 29 players released by the five franchises ahead of the WPL 2024. The BCCI released a list of 60 players, including 21 overseas stars were retained by the franchises and most of them were on expected lines. The last date for all five franchises to submit their players' retention list was October 15.
