India lost 2-1 against Qatar in the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifier match. The loss ended the Blue Tiger’s chance to progress into the third round of the qualification. But one of the most talked about the match was the controversial goal that levelled Qatar's score and gave them momentum in the match dominated by the India National Football Team. All India Football Federation (AIFF) president Kalyan Chaubey informed that they accept the defeat gracefully but also mentioned that they have written a letter to the FIFA Head of Qualifiers, AFC Head of Referees, the Match Commissioner and AFC Head of Competitions about the ‘false Goal’ and added that the AIFF seeks sporting compensation for the ‘supervision error’. No reply has been received yet from any of the authorities.
