Al-Hilal came in with a major disadvantage from the first leg as Al-Ain dominated the first leg and had a 4-2 lead on board. Al-Hilal came in well-prepared in the semi-final second leg and scored a couple of goals but Al-Ain's defender Erik came in with a goal as well which kept Al-Ain in front.
