Previously, Luis Rubiales, the head of the Spanish soccer federation kissed Spanish footballer Jenni Hermoso on the lips without her consent during the World Cup winning celebrations.
The Jenni Hermoso forced kiss incident accelerated a notch higher as the FIFA Disciplinary Committee informed Luis Rubiales, President of the Spanish Football Association, on August 24, that it is opening disciplinary proceedings against him based on the events that occurred during the final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on August 20. According to FIFA, the events occurred may constitute violations of article 13 paragraphs 1 and 2 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.
