Manchester City got their UEFA Champions League title defense off to a flying start with a 3-1 win over Red Star Belgrade in a Group G match on September 20. The Serbian club, contrary to expectations, took the lead before half-time but the reigning champions bounced back in emphatic fashion with Julian Alvarez scoring in the 47th and 60th minutes of the contest.
