Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Indian para-athletes Ajeet Singh, Mariyappan Thangavelu and Deepthi Jeevanji over a phone call and congratulated them for their effort at the Paris Paralympics 2024. The video for the same went viral on social media. Ajeet on one end won a silver medal in the men's javelin throw whereas Mariyappan Thangavelu was able to win a bronze in the high jump event. Deepthi Jeevanji won a bronze medal as well in Athletics.
