Nick Kyrgios defeated his close friend Thanasi Kokkinakis in the first round at the 2022 US Open. The 23rd seed Australian defeated Kokkinakis 6-3, 6-4, 7-6(4) to reach the second round. He will face Benjamin Bonzi of France to book a place in the third round.
