Aadhaar Lock and Unlock Guidelines: UIDAI Shares Step-by-Step Process To Secure Your Aadhaar Card via Virtual ID
Learn how to lock and unlock your Aadhaar via step-by-step process using which the card holders can enhance security of their information.
UIDAI shared a tip for locking or unlocking Aadhar to enhance security. The government agency highlighted simple steps for the citizens of India to lock/unlock their Aadhaar Cards. First, the users must go to 'myAadhaar Portal', then click the "Lock/Unlock Aadhaar" option. Afterwards, the Aaadhaar Card holders are advised to enter their 16-digit Virtual ID (VID) to lock the Aadhaar and read the instructions. UIDIA said the cardholders could click 'LockAaadhaar', enter details, including VID, Name, and PINCode, and resolve Captcha. After getting OTP, they can click 'Consent Box' and 'Submit'.
