Anthropic Claude AI Shared Memory Feature Launched for Free Pro and Max Users
Anthropic’s Claude AI has introduced shared memory across its chat interface and Claude Cowork, allowing users to control what the AI remembers. Claude can retain project details, preferences and client information, while stored topics can be reviewed, edited or deleted. The feature is enabled by default for Free, Pro and Max users.
Anthropic’s Claude AI has introduced a shared memory system that works across its chat interface and Claude Cowork. Users now control exactly what the AI retains from conversations. The feature lets Claude recall project details, preferences or past client information when starting new tasks in Cowork. Everything stored appears as an editable list of topics in Settings, where items can be reviewed, changed or deleted. Memory updates automatically during chats and users can also instruct Claude to “remember this”. Sensitive subjects such as health or religious beliefs remain excluded unless deliberately enabled. The tool is switched on by default for Free, Pro and Max plans. Anthropic says the update aims to make Claude more useful while keeping control firmly with the user.
