Telangana Police Allegedly Attacked by Unknown Hackers, Attackers Steal Sensitive Data Including TSCOP App; Department Shuts Down Website and Apps for Security Overhaul
Unknown hackers attacked Telangana COPs and breached the data to sell online on BreachForums website. After compromising Telangana police's Hawkeye app last week, this second attempt succesfully took data of individuals and also affected TSCOP app. The Telangana State Portal is shut down for maintenance.
Someone hacked entire @TelanganaCOPs network including TSCOP, their facial recognition setup. This is very very easy because the company which built this software, WINC IT Services has harcoded (embedded passwords as plaint text) inside TSCOP. The TSCOP connects to CCTNS. pic.twitter.com/aLtmY09le1
