Harare holds special significance for Sooryavanshi, as it was the stage for his heroic performance in the Under-19 World Cup final just four months ago. There, he smashed a sensational 175 runs off just 80 balls against England, guiding India to a memorable title victory. Speaking to BCCI.tv, Sooryavanshi expressed his emotional connection to the ground, stating, 'Harare is a very memorable ground for me. Four months ago, we played and won the Under-19 World Cup here. Representing India is every youngster's dream, so it is a very special moment. Coming back to the same ground where we created history a few months ago and getting another chance to play here feels amazing. We will enjoy it.'

Sooryavanshi's maiden outing in senior India colours proved to be a stern test. Making his T20I debut against England, he managed scores of 14, 13, and 15 in three innings as India suffered a 0-4 series defeat. Ahead of the series, Raza urged patience for the teenage prodigy, emphasising his immense potential. 'Vaibhav is a supremely talented cricketer. If a 15-year-old kid is playing international cricket, criticising him after just two or three matches isn't justified,' Raza stated on JioStar. He further highlighted the importance of careful management, suggesting that if handled well, Sooryavanshi "could be a generational talent." Sooryavanshi is expected to open the batting for India alongside Abhishek Sharma in the upcoming series, with Sanju Samson unavailable.
