After the BCCI lifted the ban on KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya, the batsman returned to India A team, which is currently playing against England Lions. KL Rahul could only make 13 runs in his comeback match, but then in the fourth one-days went on to score 42 runs. Now, he has been named in India A squad for the first four-day game against England Lions. The announcement was made by the BCCI today and they also mentioned that Ankit Bawne will be handling the reins of India A team. The middle-order batsman, who started his List A career for Maharashtra in 2009, made news in 2012-13 when he blazed five consecutive half-centuries. Bawne has continued to impress the selectors and attracted praise from India A coach and former cricketer Rahul Dravid. Bawne is nearing 6000 first-class runs and sits with the highest score of 258 (not out).

"The All-India Senior Selection Committee picked India A team for the first four-day game to be played against England Lions from 7th February in Wayanad," a BCCI release said.

Talking about KL Rahul, the probe against him and Hardik Pandya has been pending due to the appointment of the ombudsman. Rahul was sent home from Australia along with Hardik Pandya as the duo missed the three-match ODI series in Australia.

The All-India Senior Selection Committee picked the following for India A squad: Ankit Bawne (C), KL Rahul, AR Easwaran, Priyank Panchal, Ricky Bhui, Siddhesh Lad, K S Bharat (WK), Jalaj Saxena, Shahbaz Nadeem, Mayank Markande, Navdeep Saini, Shardul Thakur, Avesh Khan, and Varun Aaron.
