Delhi’s opening batsman Gautam Gambhir on Monday, November 12, lost his temper during the Ranji Trophy 2018-19 match against Himachal Pradesh at the at Feroz Shah Kotla. Gambhir was mistakenly ruled out by the umpire and that infuriated the left-handed batsman. The discarded Indian opener was batting on 44 when the on-field umpire gave him the marching order. Himachal Pradesh players appealed in unison and the umpire thought Gambhir had hit it. Following the dismissal, Gambhir apparently was unhappy with the decision and showed it by hitting out at the umpire. Gambhir and his young opening partner Hiten Dalal were in the middle of a good partnership which was nearing the hundred-run mark.

Gambhir and debutant opener Dalal added 96 runs for the first wicket to hand the home side an early advantage.
