Jharkhand wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan seems to be heavily influenced by local hero MS Dhoni. On several occasions, MS Dhoni is seen giving wicket-keeping tips to budding youngsters. The new cricketer also seems to implement the teachings quite well. Now, Ishan Kishan during the Vijay Hazare Trophy match between Jharkhand and Maharashtra at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium replicated MS Dhoni and we are sure that the former captain of India is quite proud of the youngster. Mumbai Indians’ Ishan Kishan Pulls off an MS Dhoni During the Finals of the Duleep Trophy 2018 (Watch Video).

It was during the 27.2 over of the match that Shahbaz Nadeem was bowling. Maharashtra batsmen R Motwani and RA Tripathi were batting and had already built a good partnership for the side. Now, Tripathi flicked the ball which landed between forward short leg and wicket-keeper position. Ishan Kishan was quick enough to grab the ball and threw it to the stumps even without seeing them. Kishan could not get a wicket because the batsman was already in the crease by then but the ball did clip one of the bails.

This is not the first time that the Jharkhand wicket-keeper has emulated MS Dhoni. Even during the Duleep Trophy 2018, Ishan replicated Dhoni’s act. The youngster also emulated Dhoni’s signature helicopter shot during the IPL 2018 for Mumbai Indians. After the match, the 20-year-old also spoke about his mentor MS Dhoni and said, "He's a legend. I also get lots of tips from Dhoni bhai. He keeps telling me you can take time. Just read the situation and see how to build your innings. I feel confident when these guys talk to me.”
