Bangladesh put up a great act yesterday at the Shaikh Al Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi as they defeated Pakistan by 37 runs and thus sealing a spot into the finals of the Asia Cup 2018. When it came to the batting performances, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mohammad Mithun were the top-scorers for team Bangladesh as they scored 99 and 66 runs respectively. Now, the captain of the Bangladeshi team Mashrafe Mortaza led the team from the front and set an example by taking a stunning catch which then sent Shoaib Malik packing. Sarfaraz Ahmed Emulates MS Dhoni; Fails Miserably.

After Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam got out on the score of 1, Sarfaraz Ahmed was sent packing on the score of 10. Just when Shoaib Malik and Imam-ul-Haq were forming a partnership, Mashrafe Mortaza ruined the party for the Pakistanis. The departure of Shoaib Malik on 30 was surely the turning point of the match.  Check out the video of the catch. Shahid Afridi Disappointed by Pakistani Team.

The Bangladeshi skipper was quite happy that he did not miss the catch and even went on to praise his side for the fielding. We are proud of our fielding today. We haven't seen such quality in a long time. Hopefully, we will continue our fielding like this. We still have to improve in our batting and bowling in some parts. I was lucky I didn't drop that catch (Shoaib Malik catch). He was in such good form and if he didn't get out, he would have carried on,” said Mashrafe Mortaza during the post-match conference. The team will now play the finals against India on Friday, September 28, 2018, in Dubai.
