Yesterday at the semi-finals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, 2018, Delhi had a miraculous win over Jharkhand. At one point in time, Jharkhand had already scalped eight wickets for the score of 149 runs. Meanwhile, Delhi was still 51 runs away from seal a pot into the finals. It was Pawan Negi and Navdeep Saini who score vital runs for the team and led Delhi to victory.  Both remained not out as Negi scored 39 runs off 49 balls and Saini made 13 runs off 38 deliveries. It was clear that Jharkhand missed the services of MS Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh in his tweet mentioned about the same. He went on to congratulate Gautam Gambhir and Pawan Negi for their heroics, but also said that MS Dhoni could have helped Jharkhand. “Congrats captain @GautamGambhir and Team Delhi for reaching #VijayHazare finals. Well done #pawanNegi But who knows @msdhoni presence could have been the difference. Team Jharkhand must have missed him today @BCCIdomestic.”

MS Dhoni, who was last seen in action during the Asia Cup 2018 was likely to the play for Jharkhand after the side qualified for the knockouts of the tournament. But chief selector MSK Prasad said that he the former Indian captain did not wish to balance of the side. However, with the likes of Gautam Gambhir, Unmukt Chand and other star players, Dhoni’s presence would have easily boosted the side. Delhi will now play Mumbai in the finals of the tournament tomorrow at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
