Following the mass shooting in Christchurch, the third Test match between New Zealand and Bangladesh has been called off. The match was supposed to begin on March 16, 2019. Mashrafe Mortaza and team is in New Zealand for the three test match series. The mass shooting happened near the Al Noor mosque and the visitors escaped unscathed. The Bangladeshi players were bussed to go to the mosque. Tamim Iqbal posted a tweet about their safety and even the Bangladesh Cricket Board said that the players were unhurt. The board also mentioned that they were in touch with the players. Talking about the attack, the shooters targeted a couple of mosques and as per reports surfacing online, six people are said to be dead and many have been hospitalised. The attackers live streamed the heinous act and the schools also are shut across the city. Police Commissioner Mike Bush said that one person is in custody but police are unsure if there are any other suspects.
